Here we come, Parrsboro!

The BFD Band playing at chester bandstand in front of a blue sky and sailboats on the water

A big thank you to all those who attended our first two bandstand concerts of the summer. Bridgewater was a bit chilly and Chester was a bit hot, but the band plays on in all types of weather. And we’re doing it again this weekend- hitting the road for one of our favourite summer traditions: Parrsboro Band Days!

We’ll be kicking things off on Saturday by marching in the opening parade down Main Street at 12:45 p.m., then we’ll be back at the bandstand for our 4:00 p.m. concert. If you’re planning to be in Parrsboro, we hope you’ll stop by, say hello, and enjoy an afternoon of great music. The festival also features local vendors, food, and live entertainment all weekend long, making it a great destination for a summer day trip.

We’re also excited to be sharing the weekend with the Weston Silver Band from Toronto. Widely recognized as one of Canada’s premier British-style brass bands, they’re wrapping up the festival with the Sunday evening closing concert at 7:00 p.m. If you have the chance to stay for their performance, you won’t want to miss it! Several of our members attended their joint concert with Chester Brass on July 15th and were absolutely blown away by their musicianship. Check our socials for proof!

A big thank you to the Parrsboro Band Association and all the volunteers who put together this fantastic weekend each year. We always look forward to bringing music to the beautiful Fundy shore.
